John William Rogers was born in Burslem, Staffordshire on 11th July 1908 to John William and Christina. His father was a labourer.
On the 1911 census John was 3 years old and living in Ferry Fryston, his father was working at Poulson Bro.
On the 1921 census he was 13 years old and living at 20 Wood Street Castleford and in full time education.
On the 12th February 1932 he was working at Allerton Bywater colliery when he was crushed by tubs.
He died on the 24th February 1932 from his injuries.
He was 24 years old.
John was buried on the 28th February 1932.
