Francis Stoker was born in Allerton Bywater in about 1822.
He married Mary Hutchinson, from Fairburn, on May 29th 1858 at Ledsham church.
On the 1861 census he is shown as being a colliery banksman.
On the 1871 census he is shown as being a colliery banksman.
He was killed on the 6th November 1872 at the Carter & Co. Allerton Bywater Colliery by being blown down the shaft.
He was 50 years old and left a widow and 4 children according to the Yorkshire post
