Isaiah Jones was born in 1856 and was baptised on the 25th May 1856 at St martins Church, Tipton, Staffordshire.
1861 Census:-Isaiah age 4 born in Great Bridge, Staffordshire is with his father David age 40 born in Dudley, Staffordshire – occupation Coal Miner, his mother Mary age 42 born in Brierley Hill, Staffordshire – no occupation, his brother Jonas age 1, also living with them is their nephew Reuben Jones age 21 born in Bilston, Staffordshire – occupation Coal Miner. They are living at Chester Road, Ogley Hay, Staffordshire.
1871 Census:- Isaiah age 15 – occupation Miner is with his father David age 50 – occupation Coal Miner and Provision Dealer, his mother Mary age 53 – no occupation, his brother Jonas age 11, also living with them is a lodger Benjamin Moses age 20 – occupation Coal Miner. They are living at Walsall Wood, Staffordshire.
Isaiah age 19 was married to Harriet Toddington on the 7th September 1874 at St John’s Church, Walsall Wood, Staffordshire. After they were married Isaiah and Harriet moved fro Staffordshire to Altofts, near Normanton in the West Riding of Yorkshire.
On the 3rd June 1880 Isaiah age 24 was caught by a Fall of Coal at T & RW Bowers Colliery and died seventeen days later on the 20th June 1880 he was buried at Allerton Bywater Church on the 24th June 1880. On the burial record is states that they were living at Great Preston. After Isaiah’s death Harriet moved back to Altofts with their son Isaiah to live with her brother, Isaiah and Harriets son Isaiah was born and baptised on the 14th November 1880 at St Mary Magdeline Church in Altofts.
