William Epraim Blyth was born in East Haddon, Northamptonshire on the 14th November 1881 and was Baptised on the 14th June 1883.
1881 Census:- William age 5 months is with his parents William age 25 born in Garforth – Leeds, occupation Railway Labourer and mother Rebecca age 21 born East Haddon – Northamptonshire – no occupation. They are lodging with William Blistow a widower age 78 at a private house in East Haddon.
1891 Census:- William age 10 – scholar is living with his father Willaim age 35 (Census record now shows his birth place as Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire) mother Rebecca age 31 – no occupation, sister Gertrude age 5 born in Durham – scholar, sister Fanney age 3 born in Wigton, Lancashire, and brother Jack age 1 born in Rothwell. They are living Rothwell Lane, Stanley.
1901 Census:- William age 20 – occupation Railway Engine Cleaner is living with his father William age 45 occupation Coal Miner Hewer (Underground) his mother Elizabeth Rebecca age 41 – no occupation, sister Gertrude age 15 – occupation Dressmaker, Sister Fanny age 13 – no occupation, brother Jack age 7, sister May age 7, sister Emma age 6, sister Anna age 4 and brother Harry age 2. They are living at 11 Railway Terrace, Rothwell.
1911 Census:- William now age 30 and unmarried is a Male Attendant in a Mental Institution in Gosforth, Northumberland.
1921Census:- William age 40 years 8 months unmarried is Head of House – occupation Coal Miner Hewer for H Bowers at Primrose Hill Pit (out of Work) and is living with his sister Gertrude age 36 occupation Dressmaker (Own business, at home), sister Emma age 26 – occupation Drapers Assistant for J Battye and Sons at Commercial Street, Rothwell, sister May age 21 years 1 month – no occupation, also there at the time of the Census was William Vincent Blyth age 1 year 4 months – nephew. They are living at 2 Woodland Crest, Rothwell.
William Epraim Blyth was killed by a Fall of Roof on the 10th September 1936.
