William Pritchard was born in Tipton, Staffordshire in 1846.
1851 Census:- William is age 4 (according to the Census information but this should be age 1 as his birth records are for 1846) William is living with his parents William age 36 born in Monmouthshire occupation Coal Miner, his mother Hannah age 33 born in Bilston, Staffordshire – no occupation. sister Mary Ann age 1 born in Tipton, Staffordshire. Also living there is Thomas Howell age 25 a lodger born in Tiberton, Shropshire. They are living at Ball Fields? Tipton, Staffs.
1861 Census:- William now age 15 (should be 11) occupation – Coal Miner, is still at home with his parents William age 45 occupation Coal Miner, mother Hannah age 45 (should be 43) no occupation, sister Margaret age 12 – scholar, sister Hannah age 6 – Scholar born in Tipton, Staffs and sister Charlotte age 1 born in Tipton, Staffs. They are living at Honley Heath, Staffs.
Could not find any Census Records for William Pritchard in 1871 or 1881.
In 1884 William and Phobe had a son William baptised on the 5th October 1884, William died age 4 months and was buried at Allerton Bywater Church on the 28th December 1884
William was married on the 28th November 1887 to Phoebe Massey at Allerton Bywater Church.
1891 Census:- William age 44 – occupation Coal Miner is with his wife Phoebe age 40 – no occupation, daughter Sarah A Pritchard age 8 – Scholar, Miranda age 5 – Scholar and Jane age 1. They are living at 5 Engine Street, Great & Little Preston, West Riding of Yorkshire. Also living with them are Mark Davies age 36 – occupation Coal Miner from Dudley, Staffs. and Thomas Williams age 53 – occupation Coal Miner from Wolverhampton.
On the 13th May 1895 William was working at T &RW Bowers Allerton Colliery when he slipped while pushing a corve and strained himself, he died on the 17th May 1895.
William was buried on the 21st May 1895 at Allerton Bywater Church.
On the 14th December 1895 Phoebe Pritchard was married to James Wills from Kippax at the Parish Church, Whitwood.
