Samuel Stockwell was born in Great Malvern, Worcestershire in the year 1876.
1881 Census;- Samuel age 5 is with his parents William Stockwell age 33, occupation Coal Miner, born in Tipton Staffordshire, his mother Carry (Caroline) age 36, brother Fred age 13, sister Mary age 11 – Scholar, William age 7 – Scholar and Sam age 4 – Scholar. They are living at No 9 New Long Row, Great & Little Preston. Caroline Stockwell and all the children were born in Great Malvern, Worcestershire.
Samuel worked at T & RW Bowers, Victoria Pit as a pony driver on the 1st February an accident occurred and Samuel was crushed by pit tubs. Samuel age 13 was buried at Allerton Bywater Church on the 4th February 1890.
The Inquest was held at the Angel Inn, Allerton Bywater where a verdict of Accidental Death was given, The results of the Inquest were reported in the Skyrack Courier on Saturday 8th February 1890.
