Daniel Farrar was born on 1876 in Kippax.

1881 Census:- Daniel age 5 – Scholar is with his father Thomas age 29 born in Kippax – occupation Miner, mother Elizabeth age 26 born in Newton – no occupation. sister Caroline age 7 – born in Kippax – Scholar, sister Sarah age 3  born in Kippax – Scholar, and brother Tom age 9 months – born in Kippax. They are living at Butt Lane, Kippax.

1891 Census:- Daniel now age 15 – occupation Pony Driver is still living at home with his father Thomas age39 – occupation Coal Miner, mother Elizabeth age 37 – no occupation, sister Sarah age 13 – no occupation, Tom age 10 – Scholar, brother Moses age 7 – scholar and brother Rhoda age  5. They are living at Well lane, Kippax,

1901 Census:- Daniel now age 25 – occupation Coal Miner Hewer is still with parents Thomas age 49 – occupation Coal Miner, mother Elizabeth age 57 – no occupation, sister Caroline age 27 – no occupation, Tom age 20 – occupation Coal Miner, Moses age 17 – occupation Colliery Pony Driver (Underground)  and brother Rhoda age 15 – no occupation. They are living at Robinson Lane, Kippax.

Daniel was married to Leah Firth on the 5th August 1905 at Kippax Parish Church, Lead was a Domestic Servant living in Chapel Allerton, Leeds. There is no Fathers name or occupation for Leah on the Marriage Certificate.

1911 Census:- Daniel age 35 occupation Coal Miner is now Head of household and is living at East View, Robinson Lane, Kippax, with his wife Leah age 31 and children Leah age 4 – Scholar and Sarah age 1.

On the 28th July 1911 John William Bullock was working at T & RW Bowers Colliery with Daniel Farrar filling dirt into two tubs with er when 60 ton of suddenly fell on them and killed them both instantly.

Daniel was buried at St Mary’s Church, Kippax on the 30th July 1911.

Daniels Probate record shows he left effects to the value of £409 to his wife Leah.
