George Robert Ball was born in Driglington, Yorkshire in 1911.

1911 Census:- George Robert is age 8 months old, living with his parents Joseph age 24 born Castleford, West Riding of Yorkshire – occupation Coal Miner Hewer, his mother Nora age 22 – also born in Castleford – no occupation. Also on the Census Record are Alfred Powell age 7 and Ernest Powell age 2 both born in Driglington and shown on the Census Record as Visitors.

1921 Census:- George Robert age 10 years 11 months – scholar is at home with parents Joseph age 33 years 9 months – occupation Colliery Deputy employed by T & RW Bowers  Colliery ((Out of Normal Employment) his mother Nora age 28  years 3 months – no occupation, siblings Ellen M Ball age 7 years 9 months born in Leeds – scholar, Evelyn age 5 years 10 months born/registered  Tadcaster – scholar and Eileen age 2 years 6 months, born/registered Tadcaster.

During 1926 George Robert Ball was killed whist working at T & RW Bowers Allerton Main Colliery, Could not find a UK Coal Mining Accidents and Death Index Record. (Source details found on Heeley Heros web site )
