Harold Ward was born in about 1892 in Allerton Bywater.
On the 1901 census he was 8 years old and living with his parents, James & Isabella in Victoria Street Allerton Bywater. James was a coal miner/hewer born in Barwick in Elmet.
On the 1911 census Harold was 18 and single and was living with his parents at 70 Victoria Street Allerton Bywater. He is listed as being a coal miner mechanic.
On the 1921 census Harold was 28 years old and living with his parents at 4 Main street Allerton Bywater. He is listed as being a coal miner/hewer but out of work.
On the 11th September 1930, while working as a bye worker, Harold was killed by being crushed by tubs at Allerton Bywater colliery.
He was living at 35 Main Street Allerton Bywater.
The inquest returned a verdict of accidental death. He was aged 38.
Harold was buried at Allerton Bywater on September 14th 1930.
