John Pickersgill was born in about 1841.
John married Ann Rhodes (from Garforth) on September 25th 1865 at South Milford.
On the 1871 census he was living at Kippax with his wife Ann. He was listed as being a labourer at a coal pit.
John was killed being crushed by waggons at the Locke & Co. Kippax colliery on the 13th November 1877. He was 36 years old.
He was buried at Kippax church on the 4th December 1877.
