Arthur Edgar Miller was born in the Third Quarter of 1900.

1901 Census:- Arthur age 8 months is living at home with his father  James age 42 born in Seacroft, occupation Underground Colliery Deputy, mother Hannah Elizabeth age 40 born in Kirbymoorside – no occupation, sister Edith age 17 – no occupation, sister Minnie age 12 born in Astley – no occupation brother Benjamin age 10 born in Astley, sister Sarah F age 7, Marrian Eva age 4 born in Astley,, brother James William age 2, born in Allerton Bywater.

1911 Census:- Arthur age 10 is living at home with his father  James age 53 born in Seacroft, occupation Underground Colliery Deputy, mother Hannah Elizabeth age 52 no occupation, brother Benjamin age 20 born in West Allerton – occupation Underground Pony Driver, sister Marrian Eva age 14 born in West Allerton – occupation Apprentice Dress Maker, brother James William age 12, born in Hollinhurst– Scholar, Herbert Reginald age 7, born in Hollinhurst – Scholar.

They were living at 36 Hollinhurst Village, Woodleford, Leeds.

On the 16th October 1914 Arthur was bringing a run of 6 full tubs down a gradient of 1 in 10, when he was run over by the first tub and was killed instantly, when checked all the tubs were properly lockered and the roadway was in good order, it is thought that he tripped over a sleeper and fell.

Arthur Edgar Miller was buried on the 20th October 1914 at Allerton Bywater Church.
