James Mathers was born in the Third Quarter 1878 .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1881 Census:- James age 2 is living with his father George age 37 born in Bramham \u2013 occupation Colliery Labourer, his mother  Isabella age 39 born in Bramham \u2013 no occupation, siblings Thomas age 11 born in Bramham \u2013 scholar, Charles age 10 born in Seacroft \u2013 scholar, George William age 8 born in Swillington \u2013 scholar, Emma age 4 born in Allerton Bywater, James age 2 boen Allerton Bywater. Also living with them is John Fawcett \u2013 Brother in Law born in Bramham \u2013 occupation Labourer. They are living at 13 New Long Row, Great and Little Preston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1891 Census:- James now age 12 is living with his father George age 48 \u2013 occupation Coal Miner, his mother Isabella age 49 \u2013 no occupation and siblings Thomas age 21 \u2013 occupation Coal Miner, Charles age 20 \u2013 occupation Coal Miner, George William age 18 \u2013 occupation Coal Miner, Emma age 14 \u2013 occupation Dressmaker. They are living at 18 Hill Street, Bowers Allerton, Great and Little Preston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the 16th<\/sup> March 1896 James age 17 was working at T & RW Bowers Colliery when he was involved in an accident and was killed, \u201cCrushed between a wagon and a post\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James was buried at Allerton Bywater Church on the 19th<\/sup> March 1896.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
