Isaac Muscroft was born in 1860 and was Baptised on the 6th<\/sup> March 1860 at St James’s Church, Seacroft, Leeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1861 Census:- Isaac age 1 is the seventh child of Benjamin and Sarah Muscroft living at Seacroft, (no address on Census Form) Benjamin Muscroft is age 41 and his occupation is a Coal Miner, Sarah his mother is age 37 \u2013 no occupation. Their other children are Samuel age 18 \u2013 Coal Miner, Joshua age 14 \u2013 Coal Miner,  Arron age 12 \u2013 Coal Miner, William age 10 \u2013 Scholar, Benjamin age 5 \u2013 Scholar and Elvira age 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between the 1861 Census and the 1871 Census several changes happened to the family, Benjamin Muscroft died in 1864 age 44 and was buried at St James Church, Seacroft,  Samuel was married in Sept 1864, Joshua was married on the 22nd<\/sup> January 1866, Aaron was married on the 21st<\/sup> August 1870 and in 1871 William was lodging with a Mr & Mrs Ramsden in Barwick in Elmet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1871 Census;- On the 1871 Census they are still living in Seacroft (no address on Census Form) but there are only four people listed, Sarah age 47 – Head of House  – no occupation, Benjamin age 15 \u2013 occupation Coal Miner, Elvira age 13 \u2013 Scholar and Isaac age 11 \u2013 Scholar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1881 Census:- Isaac now age 21 is married and living at No 2 Bradbent Row, Seacroft with his wife Mary Ann age 18 and baby daughter Lilly age 5 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Issac married Mary Ann Wagstaff on the 28th<\/sup> February 1880 at the Parish Church in Manston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the15th November 1889 Isaac was working at T & RW Bowers Colliery when a there was a roof fall, Isaac’s thigh was broken as well as several ribs, he was taken to Leeds Infirmary but died later in the day, at the inquest held at Leeds Town Hall by Mr J.C Malcolm the Borough Coroner a Verdict of Accidental Death was given.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Newspaper Report of the Inquest it states Isaac was living at Skinner Lane, Methley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isaac was buried at St Oswald’s Church, Methley on the 19th<\/sup> November 1899.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(A point of interest on the same page for Isaac’s Church Burial Record is Mark Carrington age 13 who was also killed in a Mining Accident at T & RW Bowers Colliery and was buried sixteen days earlier,)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
