James was a coal miner\/hewer born in Barwick in Elmet.<br>On the 1911 census Harold was 18 and single and was living with his parents at 70 Victoria Street Allerton Bywater. He is listed as being a coal miner mechanic.<br>On the 1921 census Harold was 28 years old and living with his parents at 4 Main street Allerton Bywater. He is listed as being a coal miner\/hewer but out of work.<br>On the 11th September 1930, while working as a bye worker, Harold was killed by being crushed by tubs at Allerton Bywater colliery. <br>He was living at 35 Main Street Allerton Bywater.<br>The inquest returned a verdict of accidental death. He was aged 38.<br>Harold was buried at Allerton Bywater on September 14th 1930.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"438\"
