{"id":3789,"date":"2025-01-01T16:43:56","date_gmt":"2025-01-01T16:43:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abhistory.co.uk\/blog\/?p=3789"},"modified":"2026-05-26T14:52:24","modified_gmt":"2026-05-26T14:52:24","slug":"1887-george-smith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abhistory.co.uk\/blog\/?p=3789","title":{"rendered":"1887 &#8211; George Smith"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">George Smith was born in the first quarter of 1864 (location unknown) he worked at Allerton Colliery owned by Bowers &amp; Son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unable to find any Census Records that I could confirm\/match for George Smith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In November 1885 the marriage banns were read for George and his future wife Jane Revis at St Mary&#8217;s Church, Kippax. <br>George and Jane were married on the 20<sup>th<\/sup> December 1885 at St Mary&#8217;s Church, Kippax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the 4<sup>th<\/sup> may 1886 George was injured by a Fall Of Roof while working at Allerton Colliery,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">George and Jane had a daughter Sarah Ann who was Baptised on the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> November 1886 at St Mary&#8217;s Church Kippax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">George died on the 6<sup>th<\/sup> April 1887 and was buried at St Mary;s Church, Kippax on the 8<sup>th<\/sup> April 1887.
