He was baptised at Kippax church on September 8th 1839.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 1841 census shows him still living at Great Preston and being 2 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 1851 census he is listed as being 11 yeard old and a scholar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 1861 census he is listed as being 21 years old and a coal miner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was involved in an accident at Joshua Bowers colliery at Great Preston, where the roof fell on him breaking his back, on the 6th November 1866. <br>He died in March 1867 and was burried on the 17th March 1867 at Kippax church.
